Carl Cort on his way to Asda - probably

For any long-time PinkUn poster, today’s news will feel like a moment we’ve all been waiting for.

That’s right, Carl Cort has finally been spotted in Asda…

Well he's signed for Norwich at least.

I must confess to not realising his career had been so difficult in recent years. And credit to Glenn Roeder for giving him an opportunity to try and make the most of the final years of his playing career.

Cort certainly has the ability to add something up front for City – him a Leroy Lita playing together, or Arturo Lupoli once the Reading striker is bought by someone else, sounds like a dangerous attacking line-up to me.

But a lot relies on Cort's fitness. It is something John Kennedy has done well to prove since joining from Celtic. Let’s hope Carl can do something similar.

After all, as Matt Chambers said to me today, Norwich are only nine points off the play-offs…

I've gone too far? I know.
