All change at Norwich City
Well, there we go. I must have talked it up.
The office has been buzzing since last night – not because it is good news, but that feeling that comes with big, breaking stories.
I had just tried and failed to get something from Barry Skipper and was speaking to Jimmy Jones in a desperate search for a lead for this morning’s paper. Then, as I’m on the phone, Jonathan opens the statement we all got from the club.
Since then, the questions have been flowing.
Where does the board go now? It must, as part of the club’s constitution, have four members. Will the “further changes” to the board be out, as well as in?
Or is the public face of the board changing – but the ownership and financial situation set to remain the same?
Then there is this morning’s Q&A with Bryan Gunn, Ian Butterworth and Ian Crook on BBC Radio Norfolk this morning. Is that a sign of things to come?
And the conspiracy theories have begun, too; suggestions two board members felt Norwich needed a managerial change, while the rest didn’t.
It seems the club will be announcing more soon – possibly today – so I guess the answers will come, eventually. Interesting times indeed.
