Torn apart by Terry, you'd have thought

Fair to say there were more laughs than tears when Sky Sports decided to flash on its yellow bar John Terry had a "suspected" broken foot.

Swiftly followed by another statement saying Terry was hoping to play in Saturday's FA Cup final being greeted with sighs.

Several minutes that are pretty indicative of how much we love our country’s footballers these days, eh?

We were all wondering whether Wayne Bridge would have suddenly come out of international retirement...

The domestic season has not really finished yet, so the World Cup bandwagon is still stalled on the grid – but it’s coming.

For me, I cannot see England doing anything better than making the last four. That would be no mean feat in itself, but I’d be amazed if they prove to have the quality to win it.

I'll save my predictions of who will for another day.

At least we have a top man in charge, in Mr Capello. Plus seeing the selection of Adam Johnson and omission of the Phil Nevilles always gladdens the heart.

And I’ll be on their side/backs like the next fan squirreled away in the King’s Arms.

But progress - that will be a bonus, and certainly not an expectation. Harsh?
