A desire to improve the experience of house sellers and buyers while saving them money was the driving force behind the creation of House Revolution.
When Chris Sargisson decided to sell his house in 2007, after selling his previous Norwich-based entrepreneurial business to the Swinton group, he was introduced to the world of estate agency.
This left him with the ambition of developing what he calls a 'cheaper and much better way to sell property and dramatically improve service'.
House Revolution was developed and four years later has sold more than £60m pounds worth of local property.
'Importantly we have developed a brand which trades almost exclusively on recommendation and referral, something which estate agents struggle to do,' said Mr Sargisson.
'I now have my sights set on building a national brand via a franchise program, £250,000 turnover by next year and £1m turnover by 2014.
'I also want to set up a second regional office, either in the north west or possibly London.'
Pulling on experience in online insurance, Mr Sargisson has also developed and launched a new brand, thegnomeservice.com, which allows home moving customers the ability to find the best value, most highly recommended services and expertise in a given area.
'House Revolution is simple but effective. By getting the customer more involved in the process through the internet they can see and control the costs of selling a home and see and control parts of the process themselves.
'We reduce overheads and fees by not having a chain of agency offices, but instead make use of technology, the internet and low cost marketing.
'And by not being tied geographically to one location, we have a larger pool of property to offer.'
