Self-confessed 'gadget geek' Andrew Kerry took some people by surprise this year with his new business venture.
For more than a decade Mattressman has been a significant East of England success story, with impressive growth both on the high street and online.
Turnover is up again this year and the focus on free, next day delivery and low prices have continued to attract hordes of customers.
Creation of a dedicated Mattressman mobile site has been designed to take advantage of the rapid increase in mobile traffic.
And future developments will include a custom built customer services module to ensure customer care remains at the top of the priority list.
But alongside this continued success Mr Kerry has fully demonstrated his entrepreneurial spirit by launching himself into the technology sector.
The first batch of Mr Kerry's Andy Pad computer tablets were officially launched in September with the intention of challenging the dominance of computer giants such as Apple.
His new Verticool business produces both the Andy Pad and the Andy Pad Pro, selling for less than £200, in a bid to take a share of the affordable end of the tablets market.
The white 7 inch screen tablets, which run on the Android operating system, feature pre–installed games and applications such as Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube.
They have been well received both by the public and the technology press.
And the Andy Pad Pro was the winner of Stuff Magazine's 'Best Budget Tablet' award, achieving a 4 star rating.
