It has been a hugely successful year for Anglia DNA, based at the Norwich Research Park at Colney.
The company offers a range of paternity testing services for the commercial and retail markets.
But 2011 will stand out as a particularly important year because of the February launch of AssureDNA, said managing director Thomas Haizel.
The UK's first off the shelf paternity testing kit, now available in Boots stores nationwide, has been enormously well received.
'For us, the opportunity to retail our product in Boots is the greatest event that has happened to date,' said Dr Haizel.
'We received huge national and international news coverage following the product launch and we have seen record numbers of DNA tests conducted in our laboratory.
'This has had a positive effect on all areas of our business, including our DNA testing service to the legal sector.'
The success is projected to carry over into further increases in sales, with an expected turnover from October 2011 to September 2012 of £2m.
The business will be launching a new drug and alcohol testing service in early 2012, for which Dr Haizel said there is huge demand.
'Our legal clients will be delighted to finally have a fast, reliable and cost–effective alternative.
'Throughout 2012 we will continue to expand our large client base in the legal services sector and increase availability of AssureDNA for the retail sector.'
