A double-digit increase in turnover would be seen as an exceptional achievement for most entrepreneurs. But for Simon Doidge, founder of Passion Automotive, it is actually just laying the groundwork for what he hopes will be even faster expansion next year.
The company, based in Great Yarmouth, is an online supplier of car parts and accessories, aiming to offer motorists the cheapest deals available.
As well as through the firm’s own website, many of the orders come through eBay and Amazon, both of which have contributed significantly to growth.
To cope with demand, the business has moved to a 12,000sq ft warehouse – three or four times bigger than its previous premises – allowing additional products to be stocked.
Mr Doidge, who set up the business while he was at university, has also developed iRacer at www. iRacer.com – a social networking site for motor enthusiasts, with the aim of driving even more traffic to the Passion Automotive website.
He said: “The business has done very well in the last year and continues to grow, however, the last year has really been about positioning ourselves for future growth and I hope next year will see us really flourish.”
