Archie Lamb, Tinchy
Strider and Jack Foster - Takeover Entertainment
A string of new signings, a joint venture and the
success of a clothing brand have helped record
label Takeover Entertainment to further growth
in 2010.
Formed by former Norwich college pals and
music promoters Jack Foster and Archie Lamb in
2006, Takeover’s flagship signing, grime artist Tinchy
Stryder, has had a series of top 10 hits, including
two number ones.
This year has seen the duo working with a number
of new artists, including singer Jodie Connor,
for whom they have secured an album deal, and
songwriter Ayak, with a series of new signings on
the horizon.
Takeover has also signed a joint venture label deal
with US rapper Jay Z’s Roc Nation company, which
will fund expansion and further signings.
Takeover’s clothing brand Star In The Hood has
also continued its meteoric rise.
The branded t-shirts and tops are now stocked
in at least 115 stores nationally, and will be sold
in national retailer JD Sports over the Christmas
period.
The label now employs 15.
Archie Lamb said: “I can’t give you the exact
figure yet, but our turnover has definitely improved
on the £800,000 of last year.
“We have also taken on an assistant which has
definitely helped with all the stuff going on!”
